How do I make an appointment?

You can book an appointment by calling us on 0488 921 821 or emailing emilie@woundcaresolutions.com.au. We'll discuss your needs and find a suitable time. We do not use an online booking system — all appointments are arranged directly.

Question 2

Do I need a referral to see a Nurse Practitioner?

No referral is required to see Emilie as a private patient. However, if you wish to access a Medicare rebate, you will need a referral from your GP or treating medical officer. We recommend speaking with your GP prior to your first appointment.

Question 3

What should I bring to my first appointment?

Please bring your Medicare card, any relevant referral letters, a list of your current medications, and any previous wound care documentation or photos if you have them. If you are an NDIS participant, please bring your NDIS plan or funding details.

How long does an appointment take?

An initial consultation typically takes 45–60 minutes. This allows time for a thorough wound assessment, medical history review, and development of a personalised wound management plan. Review appointments are generally 30–45 minutes.

What happens at my first appointment?

At your initial consultation, Emilie will take a detailed medical and wound history, perform a comprehensive wound assessment, and discuss a tailored management plan with you. She will explain her findings clearly and answer any questions you have. A written care plan will be provided.

Do you offer home visits?

Yes. Home visits are available across the Gippsland region for patients who are unable to attend the clinic in Wonthaggi. This includes NDIS participants, TAC patients, Home Care Package recipients, and patients with mobility limitations. Please contact us to discuss your location and eligibility.

Is there an extra cost for a home visit?

Yes, a home visit travel fee applies in addition to the consultation fee. The travel fee varies depending on your location. Please contact us for a quote specific to your area.

Question 8

Which areas do you cover for home visits?

Accepted Answer

Home visits are available throughout the Gippsland region, including but not limited to Wonthaggi, Leongatha, Korumburra, Bairnsdale, Sale, Traralgon and surrounding areas. Please contact us to confirm availability for your specific location.

Question 9

Can I have a telehealth consultation?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Telehealth consultations are available to patients anywhere in Australia. Telehealth is suitable for wound review appointments, care plan discussions, second opinions, and education. An initial in-person or home visit assessment may be recommended for complex wounds.

Question 10

What do I need for a telehealth appointment?

You will need a smartphone, tablet or computer with a camera and microphone, and a stable internet connection. We will send you a secure video link prior to your appointment. A carer or family member is welcome to join the call.

Question 11

Can I get a Medicare rebate for telehealth?

Accepted Answer

Medicare rebates may be available for telehealth consultations with a valid GP referral. Please speak with your GP about obtaining a referral and check with Medicare regarding current telehealth eligibility criteria.

How much does a consultation cost?

Fees vary depending on the type of consultation (initial or review), whether it is in clinic, a home visit, or telehealth, and any applicable funding. Please contact us directly for current fee information. We are committed to transparent pricing and will discuss all costs before your appointment.

Is there a Medicare rebate available?

Yes, Medicare rebates may be available for consultations with a valid referral from your GP or treating medical officer. The out-of-pocket cost will depend on the Medicare item number applicable to your consultation. Please speak with your GP about a referral.

Do you accept NDIS funding?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We provide services to NDIS participants. Wound Care Solutions is not a registered NDIS provider, which means we can only see NDIS participants who are self-managed or plan-managed. If you are agency-managed, please contact us to discuss your options.

Question 15

Can I use my Home Care Package?

Yes. Wound care services may be funded through a Home Care Package (HCP). Please speak with your HCP provider or case manager to confirm that wound care is included in your package and to arrange a service agreement prior to your appointment.

Question 16

Do you see TAC or WorkSafe patients?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We are an approved WorkSafe Victoria provider and can see TAC (Transport Accident Commission) patients. Please contact us with your claim details so we can arrange pre-approval and invoicing directly with your insurer.

Question 17

What payment methods do you accept?

Accepted Answer

We accept payment by credit card, debit card, and bank transfer. Payment is due at the time of service for private patients. NDIS plan-managed and Home Care Package patients are invoiced directly to their fund manager.

What types of wounds do you treat?

Accepted Answer

Emilie treats a wide range of acute and chronic wounds including venous leg ulcers, arterial ulcers, diabetic foot wounds, pressure injuries, skin tears, surgical wounds, traumatic wounds, and hard-to-heal or complex wounds. If you are unsure whether your wound is suitable, please contact us.

Question 19

My wound has not healed for several weeks — should I see a specialist?

Yes. A wound that has not shown signs of healing after 4 weeks, or that is worsening, should be assessed by a wound care specialist. Early specialist assessment can identify the underlying cause and prevent complications. Please call or email us to arrange an appointment.

Question 20

Will you communicate with my GP or other treating team?

Accepted Answer

Yes. With your consent, Emilie will communicate with your GP and other members of your treating team to ensure continuity of care. A written assessment and management plan can be provided to your GP following your consultation.

Question 21

Do you supply wound dressings?

Accepted Answer

Wound dressings and consumables used during your consultation are charged separately at cost. For ongoing dressing needs, Emilie will provide recommendations and, where possible, assist you in accessing dressings through your GP, NDIS plan, or Home Care Package.
